Seattle

The first leg of the journey put me in seattle to visit a bunch of friends up in that area from college. It was a great reunion and a relaxed kick off to the entire adventure. I was picked up by two devastatingly handsome young men, jacked will and sky, and taken to lunch and a quick tour of the city. We made it back to woodenville to watch sky and his dad’s ice hockey game followed by a team bbq in the back yard. The first couple days I spent at sky’s. nick and will were both busy and everyone else was still making their way there. We picked blackberries and after 7 hours of not so focused baking ended up with 7 different desserts: 3 pies, 1 tart, 2 crumbles, and 1 cobbler. I had a couple lovely dinners with the fam and madden and labby arrived just in time to share the pies. The next couple days included an evening fire pit, kayaking on lake union, chai tea in the U district, a get together at wills, a photo shoot for the new face of boeing credit union Mr. Skylar Boorman, eating our way through capital hill, a great movie called throw down your heart about the banjo (dad you gotta net flix it), a failed attempt at the pink door, and a rockin sleepover at booster’s house, keeping his mother up until the early hours of the morning. I believe the quote was “its like having a bunch of puppies in the house.” Friday, was a farewell breakfast for madden and labs. Jon, our new arrival dagnie sky and I had lunch down town in the grass at the sculpture garden then paddle boating on green lake. Then a fancy Italian dinner with booster and a great live cover band with a bunch of high school friends of sky. We said our good byes to dags and jon and made it back to skys for a little late night pie and a relaxing Saturday. In the evening we have another delicious dinner at the boosters. Nick graciously made the drive to woodenville to pick us up after we missed the last bus with his mom’s response “stupid puppies”. Will joined us for a moment of reflection on the dock as we prepared to say goosbye to seatte for a while and for your 5 am wakeup call. Sent off to the airport by sky and nick’s mom to begin the real adventure.
